ELKHORN 38, CUDAHY 0

Elkhorn controlled its first game of the season from the get-go.

The Elks held visiting Cudahy to 35 total yards in a 38-0 nonconference victory Friday night.

The Elks led 17-0 in the fourth quarter with two touchdown runs by Braden Mann from inside the 2-yard-line. In the fourth, three Cudahy turnovers on three consecutive offensive plays led to 21 Elkhorn points in less than two minutes.

Johnathan Wulff returned an interception for 28 yards and rushing touchdowns from Keaton Berhoeven and John Olsen rounded out Elkhorn's scoring.

Berhoeven also added three sacks and a fumble recovery on defense. Mann finished with 143 yards on 25 carries for the Elks.

WHITEWATER 31, PALMYRA-EAGLE 6

Whitewater took advantage of fumbles, and Scott Gorsuch rushed and passed for 224 total yards to lead the visiting Whippets past the Panthers.

Gorsuch rushed five times for 97 yards, including a 25-yard touchdown, and threw a pair of touchdown passes covering 45 yards to Bryan Parker and 19 yards to Anthony Juoni.

Peter McCrea kicked a 33-yard field goal to wrap up the scoring for Whitewater in the third quarter.

Palmyra-Eagle was only outgained by 10 yards, 299-289, but five lost fumbles hurt the Panthers. Adam Sallis rushed four times for 67 yards, Zach Ostermeyer had 52 yards on 11 carries, and Zach Kiehl had 50 yards on six carries for Palmyra-Eagle.

Jesse Collins rushed for 219 yards and seven touchdowns to lead the Comets to the nonconference win. Collins also threw for 143 yards and two touchdowns.

Delavan-Darien finished with 475 yards of total offense.

EVANSVILLE 30, UNION GROVE 21

Ryan Cashore rushed for 94 yards and scored three touchdowns to lead the host Blue Devils to the nonconference win.

Evansville trailed 21-14 in the third before rallying.

Isaiah Shell caught four passes for 71 yards for the Blue Devils.

Columbus held host Parkview to 89 total yards in winning the nonconference opener Friday.

The Cardinals rushed for 367 yards and had 443 total yards in the victory. Tarek Herschleb led the Cardinals with 202 yards on nine carries and touchdowns covering 47, 24 and 25 yards.

Aaron Hatledig scored the only points for the Vikings on a 19-yard run.

The Eagles raced to a 42-0 halftime lead in the nonconference win.

Josh Owens scored four touchdowns in the first quarter to lead Cambridge to an easy nonconference victory over visiting Turner on Friday night.

Owens rushed for scores covering 10, 11 and 10 yards and then returned an interception for another score as the Bluejays took a 36-0 lead in the first quarter.

Seth Smith ran three yards for the Trojans' only touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Brett Behselich's 13-yard touchdown run in overtime lifted the Blackhawks to the nonconference win.

Fort Atkinson trailed 20-7 at half but tied the game in the fourth on Tyler Courtier's 1-yard run.
