Snappers break three-game losing skid
CLINTON, IOWA--Nick Rickles went 2-for-4 with a two-RBI triple and a run scored to help the Beloit Snappers end a three-game losing streak Wednesday night.
Snappers starter Dakota Bacus scattered six hits and six walks, only allowing two earned runs in 5 2/3 innings to earn his ninth victory, a 5-2 triumph over the Clinton LumberKings.
Trailing 1-0 in the fourth, Dayton Alexander tied the game with a run-scoring single, then Beloit took the lead when Rickles scored on a groundout.
One inning later, the Snappers catcher belted a triple to score a pair of runs.
Clinton scored one run in the sixth, but never got any closer. Beloit's Austin House pitched a clean ninth inning for his seventh save.
The Snappers and LumberKings play the third installment of a four-game series tonight at 7 p.m.
