Jordan Gagg wins Optimist Junior City tournament

JANESVILLE—Jordan Gagg shot a 2-under-par 70 at Riverside Golf Course on Tuesday to capture the boys title in the 2013 Optimist Junior City tournament.

Gagg, a Janesville Craig High graduate, improved his second-round score by five shots to top Janesville Parker golfer John Milner by three strokes.

In girls competition, Taylor Wyss followed up her first-round 82 with a 7-over-par 78 to take the girls title by two strokes.

Melissa Biesmann topped the girls 15-16 division with a two-day total of 192; Keara Richards won the 13-14 division, shooting a 102 on Tuesday to finish at 216.

Milner was the boys winner in the 15-16 division at 148; Hunter Pipik improved eight strokes on Tuesday, shooting 80 to finish at 168 and win the boys 13-14 division.

At Blackhawk, A.J. Gray took top honors for the younger divisions. Gray shot a 7-over-par 41 on the nine-hole course to finish at 78 over two rounds.

In the boys 9-10 division, Ryan Zimmerman was just six shots off the overall pace. He shot a 41 on Tuesday to finish at 84.

Sara Nerad won the girls 11-12 division with 126.
