— The run for UW-Stevens Point's baseball team at Miller Stadium continues.

The Pointers won three of four games on UW-Whitewater's campus last weekend to capture the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament title and an automatic berth into the Division III baseball tournament.

There, and back in Whitewater for this weekend's regional, Point rattled off a second straight victory Thursday night, scoring two runs in the ninth on the Warhawks to send the game to extra innings, then scoring two more in the tenth to win 7-6.

UW-W had built a 5-2 lead through seven innings, but Stevens Point got one run back in the eighth and used three hits and an error to tie it in the ninth.

In the 10th, the Pointers scored on a fielder's choice and a single.

The Warhawks got back within a run on Sam Keller Jr.'s pinch-hit triple, but stranded a pinch-runner on third.

Whitewater plays St. Scholastica at noon today. The winner will take on Stevens Point at 6 p.m. The loser is eliminated.
