ELKHORN—A Lake Geneva man who prosecutors say has admitted being addicted to child porn pleaded guilty to a related charge Friday in Walworth County Court.

David L. Tarlo, 45, teared up while pleading guilty to one repeater count of child-porn possession and another count of failure to register for the sex-offender registry.

Tarlo's arrest in late spring was one of a string of arrests by a state task force designed to fight internet crimes against children.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children generated a tip April 5 for the state's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, noting that child porn had been uploaded at a Lake Geneva address, according to the criminal complaint.

Law enforcement say Tarlo on Feb. 24 uploaded a picture of a prepubescent girl wearing a swimsuit-type bottom but no top, the complaint states.

When police asked Tarlo if he recognized the photo they found, Tarlo said, “I've seen so many photos over the years, I can't pick out just one,” according to the complaint.

He said he could not say how many photos he has uploaded, but it could be nearly 700 photos.

Tarlo has a child porn-possession conviction from 2013.

Prosecutors also say he did not register an email address or an online chat site account, which he was required to do as a convicted sex offender, according to the complaint.

Tarlo will be sentenced at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 30.
