Artist offers lecture at UW-Whitewater

A public lecture and question-and-answer session by featured artist Kiki Smith will be presented Monday, March 6, at 7 p.m. at the Young Auditorium, 930 W. Main St., on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

The event is part of the Annette and Dale Schuh Visiting Artist Program.

Born in Nuremberg, Germany, and based in New York,  Smith is known for her sculptures, photography, drawings, prints and textile works.

She is the recipient of the 2012 National Medal of Arts.

In addition to her March 6 lecture, Smith will take over Crossman Gallery during the week of March 6-10 to work alongside UW-Whitewater students to create a series of prints.
