ELKHORN—A Kenosha man is charged with breaking a newborn's left arm.

Jonathan P. Foreman, 21, was at a Lake Geneva home July 3 when the now 4-month-old was crying and needed his diaper changed, according to the criminal complaint.

While holding the child, Foreman told police, he switched positions and “felt a pop” in the child's left arm. A Milwaukee Children's Hospital pediatrician told Bloomfield police Foreman's story is inconsistent with the child's injury, according to the complaint.

Foreman is charged with physical abuse of a child, intentionally causing harm.

The child suffered a break to the bone extending from the shoulder to the elbow, according to the complaint.

The pediatrician told police the injury “requires violent twisting forces.”

While examining the child, 11 rib fractures in various stages of healing were found, the result of “severe” physical child abuse, according to the complaint.

Foreman will appear in court for a preliminary hearing at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12, at the Walworth County Judicial Center.
