Beloit Snappers' bats silent in loss
Two solo home runs by left fielder Ryan Mathews weren't enough for the Beloit Snappers to overcome the Quad Cities River Bandits on Saturday.
A three-run homer by Quad Cities first baseman A.J. Reed in the third inning carried the visitors to a 5-2 win.
Beloit could only muster four hits in the game off three Quad Cities pitchers. Lou Trivino took the loss, his 10th of the season.
The Snappers start a series with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers in Grand Chute at 5 p.m. today.
