Venetian Festival will light up Lake Geneva

The 52nd annual Venetian Festival, sponsored by the Lake Geneva Jaycees, kicks off Wednesday, Aug. 13, and runs through Sunday night Aug. 17. The festival has a great music lineup, a craft show, beer tent, brat stand, water ski show, carnival, lighted boat parade and fireworks show.

All events take place in Flat Iron, Seminary and Library parks, along the lakefront in Lake Geneva.

Ride specials include $20 wristbands from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Live entertainment is located in the Jaycees Entertainment Pavilion beer tent — you must be 21 to enter.

  • Noon to 3 p.m. Aug. 17, Lake Geneva House of Music
  • 8 p.m. Aug. 17, Megan Ruger, season six contestant on “The Voice”

The craft fair is held 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday in Library Park. Admission is free. There are more than 110 exhibitors.

The water ski show takes place at 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17.

The highlight for many visitors to Venetian Festival is the lighted boat parade, held Aug. 17 at dusk. This year's theme is Americana. The fireworks follow.

Fireworks begin promptly at 9 p.m. on Aug. 17. Fireworks are shot off in Geneva Bay, downtown Lake Geneva and can be viewed from Library Park, the lakefront, Riviera Beach and Flat Iron Park in downtown Lake Geneva.
