EAST TROY — The website of Erik Buell Racing LLC, the East Troy-based motorcycle manufacturer, describes the 1190SX, its newest motorcycle, as “a superbike performance and heritage combined with a streetfighter attitude.”

Former Harley-Davidson engineer Erik Buell actually developed a streetfighter-style sports bike in the mid-1990s, during his days with Buell Motorcycle Co. But Buell arguably perfected the category through Erik Buell Racing LLC, which makes high-end performance motorcycles for sport bike enthusiasts.

The 1190SX is expected to be shipped to dealers this month, and has a suggested retail price of $16,995.

The motorcycle features a V-Twin engine that is rated at 185 crankshaft horsepower and 100 pounds of torque. It has wider handlebars, stores fuel in its frame and has hubless wheels.
