Kane County power surge sinks Beloit
BELOIT—The Kane County Cougars brought the heavy lumber to Pohlman Field on Saturday.
Eight of their 12 hits went for extra bases (four doubles, four home runs), and catcher Kyle Schwarber went 4-for-5 with five RBI to power the 10-2 Kane County win.
Both of Beloit’s runs came on solo home runs. Luis Baez hit the first in the fourth inning, and second baseman Chih Fang Pan added another in the seventh, when the Snappers were already trailing 10-1.
Kyle Finnegan took the loss, allowing three of the Cougar homers, but he did strike out six in six innings of work.
