Wheels were spinning last week at the iCan Shine iCan Bike program held at Lakeland School in Elkhorn. The bike camp, hosted by the Autism Society of Southeastern Wisconsin, teaches individuals with disabilities how to ride a conventional bike.

iCan Bike has a fleet of adapted bicycles and specialized instruction and instructors to help students become lifelong independent riders. The riders attend camp 75 minutes per day for five consecutive days with the same spotters. As the week goes on, the adapted bikes are adjusted to allow for more instability, challenging new riders to become more and more independent.
