Intoxicated driving arrests

--SUZAN L. RAHN, 32, of 721 N. Washington St., Janesville, at 12:32 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of East Centerway and North Parker Drive, Janesville.

--HOUSE FIRE in the 1600 block of Barham Avenue, Janesville. Crews responded to a home at 8:46 a.m. Monday after a passerby noticed smoke and flames coming from the home. The fire was extinguished, and one dog was removed from the home and given oxygen. The residents were not home at the time of the blaze. Crews estimated $5,000 in structural damage and $10,000 in damage to contents in the home. The Red Cross was contacted to provide housing arrangements for the six people who were displaced. No one was injured.

WALWORTH COUNTY

Charged

--ROY G. COX IV, 23, Chicago, Ill., with felony throwing or discharging bodily fluids at a public safety worker and misdemeanor resisting an officer. Walworth County deputies say on May 17, 2014, Cox was stopped for speeding in the town of Lyons and he was arrested on a drunken driving charge. When deputies tried to put Cox into the squad car, he resisted. A deputy called an ambulance when Cox began breathing erratically. When officials arrived, Cox reportedly spit on them.

--BENINO RUBIO III, 32, 5614 Highway 11,31E, Elkhorn, with felony escape. Walworth County deputies say on February 14, 2014, Rubio left the jail to meet with his probation and parole agent. He did not return that day as instructed.

--BRANDON R. SMITH, 30, 420 Roosevelt St., Fort Atkinson, with two felony counts of deliver heroin. Whitewater police say on September 11, 2013, and September 24, 2013, they participated in controlled purchases of heroin from Smith.

--STACY L. SMITH, 37, 410 Shore Drive, Mukwonago, with felony possession of marijuana, second and subsequent offense. Walworth County deputies say on March 9, 2013, deputies stopped Smith in the town of LaFayette and found marijuana in her purse.

--PAUL A. BENNETT, 50, of Rochester, Minn., at 4:59 a.m. Sunday, at N9000 County CC, town of Exeter.
